Summary

A potential vulnerability has been identified in Micro Focus Enterprise Server (including the Enterprise Server component of Enterprise Developer). The Reflected XSS vulnerability could be exploited to redirect a user to a malicious page or forge certain types of web requests. The vulnerability is in a testing feature which is not enabled by default, and the affected feature does not itself have a web session to be hijacked or other vulnerable aspects.

RESOLUTION

Micro Focus has made the following mitigation information available to resolve the vulnerability for the impacted versions of Enterprise Server and Enterprise Developer:

路         Disable or delete any Enterprise Server listeners that are configured with the conversation type set to "Custom" and have "http-echo" in the adjacent text box. The http-echo conversation-type module should only be used for connection testing in a development setting, and disabled or removed when it is no longer needed.

路         Alternatively, install the appropriate Patch Update for your version of Enterprise Server or Enterprise Developer:

o   3.0 Patch Update 20

o   4.0 Patch Update 12

o   5.0 Patch Update 2
