Product & Pricing Change

As of August 1, 2011, HP Client Automation product structure and pricing have been simplified significantly in order to make transactions smoother and easier. The changes are:

  • Eliminated the six individual products sold separately. HP Client Automation will now be sold only as one product with the full capability. The six modules were CAE Application Manager, CAE Application Self Service Manager, CAE Inventory Manager, CAE OS Manager, CAE Patch Manager, and CAE Usage Manager.
  • HP Security & Compliance Manager will continue to be sold separately.
  • Removed the five quantity-based tiers and pricing.
  • The four licensing options for the new product structure are:
    • Client Device (a traditional full function PC)
    • Thin Client Device
    • VDI Virtual Desktop
    • Server Device
Effective November 1, 2011, at the time of next support contract renewal, existing customer support contracts will be migrated to the new product structure. Customer entitlement will remain the same after the migration to the new product structure. Support pricing will be based on the new configuration.

As part of the product structure change, HP is discontinuing the Extensions to Windows Installer product. Extensions to Windows Installer product will continue to be supported till Oct 31, 2013. Beyond that period, you will be able to continue using third party packaging products along with HP Client Automation Enterprise.
