Description
This integration allows creation of a Request for Change in HPE Project and Portfolio Manager management (Demand Management module) following a change request in HPE Service Management products (SM and SC). This is a bidirectional integration. Changes that originate in the service desk application can be automatically imported into PPM Center as requests that PPM Center manages and, similarly, based on revisions to requests in PPM Center, changes in the HPE Service Manager service desk application can be automatically updated.
A customer often submits Requests for Change to a service management or a trouble ticketing system such as the HPE Service Management products--HPE Service Manager and HPE Service Center. However, the change process in an application is controlled from a project and portfolio management tool like the HPE Project and Portfolio Manager (PPM). Therefore, it is essential that the two systems transfer data to each other and are synchronized. When the change request arrives at the service management tool, it automatically creates a Request for Change in the Portfolio Management tool. From then on, any changes for the related change requests in both tool sets will be synchronized till the change is ready for release and deployment.
Integration technologies used: The integration runs as a service (SOAP based) in the PPM server, and needs the MAC integration package on PPM. Configuration of adapter files on both PPM and SM sides control various aspects of the data import process.
