Product Structure Change

More than a year ago, on May 18th 2015, HPE introduced a new product structure for HP Vertica. HP Vertica Enterprise Edition is now called HP Vertica Premium Edition and it now includes the use of FlexTables which had previously required a separate license. The older HP Vertica Enterprise Edition is no longer available for purchase and going forward, HPE will sell Premium Edition and a new Express Edition licenses for HP Vertica.

This enhanced product structure change is applicable to all versions of HP Vertica. As part of this simplification, all HP Vertica Enterprise Edition support customers will receive a free license exchange to HP Vertica Premium Edition, including FlexTables if your current version is supported. Beyond November 1 2016 and at the time of your next support contract renewal, HPE will replace the HP Vertica Enterprise Edition license SKUs on your support contract with the HP Vertica Premium Edition license SKUs, with no other changes.
